Participants emerge prepared to take decisive command and effectively lead an Incident Management Team through complex, multi-jurisdictional responses within local frameworks.

Learning Outcomes:
- Integrate the advanced fundamentals of oil spill response into strategic, high-level incident action planning.
- Command an Incident Management Team (IMT), providing decisive leadership and direction during an incident, seamlessly managing Planning, Operations, Logistics, and Finance & Administration from the role of Incident Controller.
- Formulate clear response objectives and evaluate alternative strategies to deploy the most effective, risk-assessed tactical responses.
- Execute rapid, high-stakes decision-making and drive authoritative communication across multi-agency stakeholders.
- Analyse and apply relevant Australian legislation, intergovernmental frameworks, and Oil Pollution Emergency Plans to ensure a legally compliant and strategically sound response.
Learning Methods:
- Classroom Theory (3 Days): Facilitator-led instruction and collaborative learning at a dedicated AMOSC training facility.
- Scenario Simulations (1 Day): Hands-on, oil spill response scenario-based exercises conducted on-site to test and solidify classroom concepts.
