The Course in Oil Spill Response Management (IMO II equivalent) provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the management and coordination of oil spill response activities.
Introduction:
Target Audience:
Designed for industry personnel involved in an organisation’s Incident Management Team (IMT), including personnel with management experience or team working skills at a supervisory level.
Learning Outcomes:
- The course offers practical and theoretical opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in the following:
- Fundamentals of oil spill response,
- Roles and responsibilities of Incident Management Team Functions - (Planning, Operations, Logistics, Finance & Administration),
- Working within a multi-agency, cross-jurisdictional oil spill team,
- Development and implementation of incident action plans, and
- Utilise Oil Pollution Emergency Plans to identify, analyse and evaluate information to select, locate and coordinate oil spill response strategies, equipment and other resources.
Learning Methods:
Blended: eLearning (~8hrs) Classroom at AMOSC (1 day face-to-face) Scenario Simulations (1 day face-to-face)
Face-to-face: Classroom at AMOSC (3 days) Scenario Simulations (1 day face-to-face)
Program Benefits:
- To train and qualify personnel for employment in an Oil Spill Incident Control Centre (ICC).
